Jivana Care in Bethesda, MarylandGezzer Ortega, MD, MPH, is a patient-centered physician focusing on providing optimal care to all patients. Dr. Ortega serves as Medical Director of Jivana Care in Bethesda, Maryland. He is also junior faculty at the Center for Surgery and Public Health, Brigham and Women's Hospital/ Harvard Medical School, overseeing surgical disparities research.
Dr. Ortega recently served as the Senior Research Associate within the Clive O. Callender Howard-Harvard Health Sciences Outcomes Research Center at Howard University College of Medicine (HUCM). He obtained his medical degree from HUCM, a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and his Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University. Research, mentoring, and service are at the core of Dr. Ortega's endeavors.
Dr. Ortega has collaborated with research groups focused on providing equitable care to patients. He has published many original articles and has presented at national meetings. As a physician-scientist, Dr. Ortega's focus is to contribute to the field of medicine and eliminate health disparities through research and humanitarian efforts. His hobbies include sports, traveling, and music.
